The Chase

Shot on location in Jordan whilst filming documentary feature film The Portal - www.entertheportal.com

As Syrian refugees in Jordan, this was the first time Malak and her 2 sisters - Mais and Lulu (pictured here) had been outside the fence of Zaatari Refugee camp in 5 years. The opportunity to run free was both beautiful and bittersweet, their childlike zest for living in the moment one of the most humbling scenes we had the honour of sharing with them.

The images in this project were taken on location whilst filming the documentary 'The Portal', a film seeking out stories of inspiration and hope. From the USA, to Jordan, to Australia we followed in the footsteps of several awe-inspiring individuals, learning how they overcame adversity and crisis to explore the unique potential that all humans have to change our world from the inside out.

The film embodies a hybrid of documentary storytelling and dramatic reconstructions of pivotal moments from our characters' lives. This project illustrates moments from our filming journey - where we not only captured what we set out to film, but also had the privilege of experiencing so much more.
